I like to add a little marjoram to baked potatoes, so I guess it would be good in potato pancakes too. I will give that a try!

If you are interested in trying a different (Slovak) version of potato pancakes, see my recipe at http://www.slovakcooking.com/2009/recipes/potato-pancakes/. We eat them salty. I have never even thought of eating them with apple sauce but I must admit it does sound tempting! I’ll try this next time. The Slovak potato pancakes are seasoned with marjoram, pepper and garlic. I usually eat them with milk, but I guess that’s totally optional.

Just arrived at your potato pancake recipe page and I must say they do love very tempting indeed. I’ve never actually made them with rolled oats so this is definitely one I’m going to try. I also like the apple sauce you put on the side too as I think that would go extremely well with them.

I’ve tried them your way as well, but they don’t hold together as well. Using coarser graded potatoes makes them more like rosti.

Great recipe. I just found your recipe after putting up mine (http://daddycooking.com/articles/49), which is a bit different. But I’ll give yours a shot. Yours’ looks like it cooks better since it doesn’t have any loose potato pieces. Keep the recipe’s coming, fellow Dad!
