Pancakes with maple syrup
The best way to start your day is with a good breakfast. One of my favorite breakfasts is pancakes with maple syrup, lots of maple syrup!
Ingredients
40 grams butter
2 eggs
230 ml milk
210 grams flour
1 heaped tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
Melt the butter in a sauce pan or in the microwave oven. Mix in the eggs and milk. In a second bowl mix the dry ingredients and add them to the butter, eggs and milk mixture. Don’t worry if the batter isn’t completely smooth, a few lumps don’t matter.
Heat a pan on medium high heat, a cast iron skillet works best for this. The right temperature is crucial when baking pancakes. A few drops of water dropped into the pan should dance around a little before evaporating.
Pour some batter into the pan, an ice cream scoop is the perfect measure. You don’t have to grease the pan, the butter in the batter will take care of that. Depending on the size of your pan, you should be able to bake 3 or 4 pancakes at the same time. When the top of your pancakes have bubbles and start drying up, it’s time to flip them over.
A few more minutes of baking the other side and your pancakes are ready to be served. Stack them on a plate, add some butter and lots of maple syrup.

Looks great! We have pancakes often on Sunday mornings here and the best way to have them is with pure maple syrup!
Very classic way of having pancakes yet possibly one of the best ones.. well done thx for sharing looks delicious. xx
It is no secret in my family that I’m Pancake Woman! This is just the way I like it: drenched in syrup with some butter. A classic!
These pancakes looks superb! Breakfast is my favorite course. Although I am not a big fan of pancakes, I just can’t take my eyes from these. Maybe I should try them this morning.
nice. my pancakes always come out a bit darker…probably because i am off doing something else and forget i am cooking!
i like the way the edges look kind of crispy and the centers look soft.
I absolutley love these pancakes. It seems like I over ate them, because its not normal that I’m weighting 1.5 kg more than this morning ![]()
And I have to agree that the colour of your pancakes is evenly nice, mine were…well, maybe thats way it needed to be eaten immediately ![]()
Well, thanks and looking for your next masterpiece.
I also liked these fluffy pancakes:

Deem, it seems like I’m addicted on pancakes
1.5 kg, how many did you eat!?!? The above recipe ads up to about 0.5kg and it makes a good breakfast for the four of us…
Maybe I didn’t mentioned that I really love pancakes ![]()
OK, probably 1.5 kg is not the exact amount I gained, but still there were plenty of kg’s.
I also like to drink hot chocolate with pancakes, and I did, couple of cups and as you already can guess, my cup is quite big.
Cheers!
